This makes a nice centerpiece for Thanksgiving and a perfect place to serve nuts and mints or another candy snack.

Supplies:

  • Paper plate (not Styrofoam)
  • Paper soup bowl (can by Styrofoam)
  • Tan or brown, red and yellow construction paper
  • Assorted colors of construction paper (five feathers per turkey)
  • Turkey head and wings (Pattern)
  • Turkey feathers (Pattern)
  • Turkey beak (Pattern)
  • Turkey wattle (Pattern)
  • Scissors
  • Brown crayon
  • Glue and glue sticks
  • Black Sharpie
  • Gold glitter glue (optional)

Directions:

  1. With the brown crayon, color the backside of the paper plate.
  2. Glue the soup bowl into the center of the plate.
  3. Cut out all the turkey pieces. Glue the wattle and beak on the turkey head. Lean the turkey head against the bowl and glue the bottom of the head to the edge of the paper plate.
  4. Glue the bottom of the wings to the edge of the plate, with the wing leaning against the bowl and touching the back of the turkey head.
  5. Glue one of the feathers under the edge of the plate directly opposite the head. Glue two more feathers on each side of that middle feather.
  6. With the black Sharpie, draw in eyes and make stitch marks around all the pieces.
  7. Optional: Run a line of gold glitter over the black stitch marks.
