LUNCH BAG OWL
BLACK CAT, FALLING
Look at those eyes, if that’s not fear I don’t know what it is. And I thought cats weren’t afraid of falling—they always land on their feet? The kids love doing this project, it must have to do with “scary.”
For the supply list and directions look at “Falling Black Cat” in the Halloween Projects Gallery in the sidebar.
CHAINED UP PUMPKIN
PUMPKIN FAMILY–THE CONES
JUST STACK ‘EM
It’s time to decorate for Halloween, but what to do with all those pumpkins! This is our plan for this year—we’ll stack them—a “Pumpkin Totem Pole.” Just a few pieces of construction paper, colored chalk, hairspray and crayons are all we need. The hairspray is to set the chalk. For all the directions for this kid’s project, “Pumpkin Totem Pole,” look in the 2nd Grade Projects Gallery in the sidebar.
SCARECROWS
We did a draw-along lesson while drawing the scarecrows, then each student finished their fall picture with pumpkins, crows or whatever they chose. We used watercolor pencils in this project. The complete list of supplies and the directions for making this “Scarecrow Watch” project are in the 5th Grade Projects Gallery in the sidebar.
SPIDERS
Get ready for Halloween by making a bunch of “Hanging Spiders.” They aren’t terribly scary looking unless, of course, you’re scared of spiders. There’s not much to making these, especially if you use glue dots. And if you haven’t been using them, now’s the time to start because you’ll find lots of uses for them. The directions for making “Hanging Spiders,” can be found in the Halloween Projects Gallery in the sidebar.
