He is Risen

Easter eggs, a smiling sun and “He is Risen” printed on a cloud, are the setting for a ‘meaning of colors’ poem. I haven’t been able to find the name of the author of this poem to give credit. There are no rules to this project other than making sure to use at least one egg of each color mentioned in the poem.

Supplies:

• White construction paper
• Green, yellow, orange, black, red, white, purple and pink construction paper
• Other spring colored paper (Optional)
• Background with poem (Pattern)
• Sun and cloud (Pattern)
• Eggs (Pattern)
• Colored chalk
• Kleenex
• Yellow color or marker
• Scissors
• Glue stick
• Black Sharpie
• White glue
• Gold glitter

Directions:

1. Print the poem on the white construction paper. Print the sun and cloud on white paper and the eggs on the colored papers. 

2. Using the side of the chalk, stroke red, blue, yellow and purple colored chalk over the entire background paper (with the poem on). Wipe with a Kleenex to take off excess chalk. 

3. Color the sun and cut out. Cut out the eggs, making sure you have at least one of each of the colors stated in the poem. Green, yellow, orange, black, red, white, purple, and pink. 

4. Glue the sun/cloud image on the background, leaving a little space at the top to draw rays. 

5. Glue the eggs all along the bottom and partially up the sides of the picture.

6. Add a gold cross to the black and white eggs.

Optional: Choose a 12″ x 18″ (cut to 12″ x 15″) colored matting for the back of the picture, to display.
