Two revolutionaries were crucified with Him, one on His right and one on His left. One of the criminals said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” He replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” These are words that give us hope to one day be with Jesus in Heaven.
Our project reminds us of the three crosses standing in a place called Golgotha. And of the extreme suffering Jesus endured to give us a chance to one day be with Him in Heaven.
Supplies: 
- White construction paper
- Brown or tan construction paper
- Optional: Crosses (Pattern)
- Old file folders
- Colored chalk
- Black Sharpie
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Kleenex
Directions:
- Tear the old file folders into 1″ to 1 ½” strips. Each student should have 4 or 5 strips.
- Lay the white paper horizontally. On the edge of one of the torn strips, chalk the edge with light blue. Then laying the strip about an inch from the top of the white paper, slide the chalk off the strip onto the white paper with your finger.
- Chalk the edge again with a darker blue, move this strip about an inch down from the first and slide the chalk off the strip, blending into the first color.
- Chalk the opposite edge of the strip with purple, moving down another inch, slide the color off the strip and blend into the color above.
- Using a new strip, chalk the edge with yellow, place the strip about an inch and a half below the purple and slide the color off the strip into the purple.
- Do the same with orange, then purple again, then brown and at the bottom use black.
- Give the hills some depth by adding a little black into the brown and blend.
- Either cut three crosses free-hand out of the brown paper, or use the pattern provided to make the crosses.
- Cover the crosses with black chalk and then wipe them with a Kleenex.
- Glue the crosses on the hills.
- Spray the picture lightly with hairspray to set the chalk.
