Fall in the Country

It’s fall and we are producing a harvest landscape. This landscape is to include certain fall items, but it was up to each student to decide where to put the items. This is a project where we stress perspective and, more importantly, “following directions.” These 4th graders did a very good job of both.

Supplies:

  • White construction paper
  • Pencil and eraser
  • Crayons, colored pencils or colored markers
  • Gold glitter glue

Directions:

There are few directions for this project, just that everyone is to make a harvest landscape and include the following items in the landscape. tree or trees, bare or with autumn leaves on, falling or on the ground. 2.The fence that stretches horizontally across the page.  The fence can go in front of or behind the tree or other object.  3.  A house or barn.  4. Pumpkins.  5. A black cat.  6.  Clouds.  7.  A sun or moon.  Anything else can be added as long as it is appropriate for fall.  For instance, a tractor, bales, field corn, etc.  Remember perspective—-the farther something is away from you, the smaller and higher on the paper it will be.  The closer something is, the larger and nearer the bottom of the paper.

Color with crayons, colored pencils or colored markers.  Color the complete paper. Glitter glue small areas on the pumpkins, the leaves, and the sun.
