Here’s another Mother’s Day project using watercolor paper. This time for the vase that folds so the bouquet is free standing. The flower centers can be drawn in or you can use the pattern sheet of already drawn faces.
Supplies:
- Watercolor paper
- Vase (Pattern)
- Watercolor paints and brush
- Colored construction paper
- Flowers (Pattern)
- Flower stem and leaves (Pattern)
- Flower faces (Pattern)
- Black Sharpie, optional
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Colored markers
Directions:
- Cut the vase from the watercolor paper. Score and fold on the dotted lines. Using the watercolor paints, paint the vase while it lays flat. Put aside to dry.
- Cut out the stem/leaves, five flowers and five faces (the faces can be free hand drawn on the flowers).
- Apply glue to the back of the faces and glue to the flowers.
- If you want to decorate the vase or write on it, use the colored markers. Write a message to Mom to the front of the vase.
- Apply glue to the area on the stem/leaves below the line shown and glue to the inside of the vase. The bottom of the stem will be about half way down from the top of the vase. Run a line of glue across the tops of the vase, line up the front and back pieces and press the vase tops together. Hold for about 30 seconds so the glue has time to stick.
- Lay the flowers over the stem/leaves, arrange as you wish and glue the flowers to the stem and to each other.
